commonly asked spark questions

Who should attend Spark?

Spark is a conference for young adults aged 18-30-ish.

What is Spark all about?

Spark is here to help you know what your life is for. It’s here to keep shining the light of God’s word into your life: urging you to forsake the things that are trivial and dedicate your whole life to Jesus Christ and what He calls you to do with this life He’s given you. There is no greater thing you can do with your life in this world than dedicate your life to the God who made you!

What is the Spark weekend format?

It’s going to be a full weekend away of wonderful worship, Bible talks to help you reconnect with God and move you to live for Christ, reflection and fellowship, time to relax and lots of extras along the way.  Further information will be released soon on our program page.

Who are the speakers?

For further information on our speakers and special guest, visit our speaker page.

Who is this conference for?

Spark is for young adults – single, dating or married.

Do I have to be a Christian to attend?

No. If you’d like to find out more about Christianity, we’d love you to come along!

How can I get involved?

We’d love you to be involved at the first Spark event! There are a few ways you can do this. You can pray. You can volunteer to help with various parts of the weekend — e.g. as ushers, parking team, muscle team etc.

If you’re interested, head to the volunteer page to let us know!

How do we get to the conference venue?

StayKCC is 110km west of Sydney at Katoomba. It is accessible by car (along the M4) or by train to Katoomba Station and a short taxi ride to the site.

The address is 119 Cliff Drive, Katoomba NSW 2780.

Download our ‘Getting Here’ guide.

Can we organise our own accommodation?

Yes! There are plenty of houses around Katoomba where you can stay. If you’re a small group and the KCC accommodation is booked out, why not partner up with another church group and share accommodation? It’s a great way to form new relationships and encourage each other!

We’ve put together a list of offsite accommodation options to help, or check out airbnb, Stayz, Booking.com or Blue Mountains Escapes.

If I book StayKCC dorm accommodation, how will rooms be allocated?

Rooms will be allocated by group* and gender. Rooms may be shared with other groups of the same gender if needed (don’t worry – we won’t separate anyone from their group!), and we won’t be able to allocate any couple-only rooms. Thanks for your understanding! This helps us make the most of spots for everyone who needs them.

* Groups will be identified either by group created at registration, or by church name entered.  Please contact us at spark@kcc.org.au after you have registered if:

Your group does not fall into either of these categories;
You have any other accommodation requests you’d like to ask about; or
Any accessibility requirements!
